Dick Fletcher
Richard M. "Dick" Fletcher Richard M. "Dick" Fletcher,
74, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving
family. A native of Jacksonville, he had lived in Bradenton, Fla., and
made Tallahassee his home thirty years ago. Dick retired from GTE Florida
as Director of Regulatory Matters and Governmental Affairs with 37 years
of service. He served his country in the U.S. Army and National Guard
and had been active in many civic clubs. A man who never met a stranger,
he will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband and
best father and grandfather in the world. Dick is survived by his wife
of 53 years, Ernestine Parker Fletcher; two daughters, Cindy Newhall and
Debbie Giangrosso (and her husband, Joe); a sister, Nancy Carolyn Mankin
of Brandon, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Michael Clemmons, Ashley Batey,
Kayla Batey and Joey Newhall. He was preceded in death by his parents
and a brother. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. EDT Friday May 7,
2010, in Culley's MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel with interment in
Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 10
a.m. Friday until service time at the funeral home.
