name: Tupper Saussy
My latest book is Rulers of Evil: Useful Knowledge About Governing Bodies, published by HarperCollins in August 2001. ROE took ten years to write, and will take another ten to recover from. So today I spend most of my time traveling, making music, films and watercolors -- and yes, developing yet a new book. I was in Tampa for the 2004 centennial Gasparilla fiesta, which was a very pleasant Plant High reunion warmup. Shortly thereafter, I migrated to the far Caribbean, where the Osprey Beach Hotel on Grand Turk Island, Turks & Caicos, BWI, has just installed a large collection of my paintings. I've established a studio there and intend to commute between the BWI, Florida, California, and Georgia. My life has not been totally wasted. I'll spare you a grandfather's lavish boasts to say that my eldest son (exactly the same age as I when I was 43) is Chairman of Oriental Languages and Comparative Literature at Stanford University. My second son, 29, is sous chef at La Grenouille, which would have been my favorite restaurant in Manhattan 30 years ago if could have afforded it. My third son, 26, chefs at Joe's in Venice, California, an exquisite eatery not to be missed when in the Los Angeles area. My daughter just lives in Phoenix and my step-daughter runs employee computer training at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. I cherish so many warm memories at Plant. It seems that every day a new one comes to mind. Please know that I am far more interested in what my classmates have been up to these past fifty years than in narrating my own adventures. That's why I plan to be in Tampa May 14th. I'll be all ears. Saussy Passed Away in 2008
